Having Jordan as our wedding DJ was an absolute delight. The first time we ever spoke to Jordan, it was for close to an hour as he laid out his experience as a DJ, particularly with weddings, and answered all of our questions about why we should consider hiring him. Since that initial interview, Jordan was always available to us via phone, text, or email, often responding within the hour, and was happy to answer the most trivial of questions that we had.

Jordan prepared thoroughly before the wedding, sending us a detailed questionnaire, schedule, and song list to complete, to make sure every detail was exactly how we wanted it. And we met via video chat a couple weeks before the wedding just to talk everything over and iron out any remaining details.

At the wedding itself, Jordan was terrific. He arrived early. He coordinated with our other vendors and the staff at the venue to set up his equipment so that we weren't disturbed. He made introductions, provided announcements, and, of course, kept the dance floor grooving for the entire night. Not to mention, the photo booth that we reserved through Maryland's DJ was a massive hit with our guests! Everything unfolded seamlessly.

On top of all the things I mentioned above, Jordan is quite simply a genuine, friendly, and easygoing person. My wife and I liked talking to and interacting with him. He made our lives a little less hectic while planning a wedding in the midst of the ongoing pandemic: no small feat.

Awesome experience! Jordan was quick to respond to any questions we had and was a big help when he had to reschedule and change venues due to Covid. They even included up-lighting for us at a discounted rate! Steve was our DJ and he did a great job of being flexible with our schedule as well as keeping the crowd engaged. He came on the mic when requested, but otherwise just let the music play which was exactly what we wanted. Would highly recommend this service for your wedding or other future events!

OH MY GOD!! Words can not express how much my husband and I enjoyed having Jordan at our wedding in February. Maryland DJ’s were amazing! When I called I spoke to Jordan and gave him a run down of what we were looking for, he said “I got the perfect DJ for you guys!”. Jordan set us up with DJ Neil Feldman. We spoke with Neil multiple times leaving up to the wedding over video call. We gave him our style of music we like and some of our favorite songs. Dj Neil told us from the start that he does not just play a premade playlist that is created by the couple, but that he will take our music and the vibe of the wedding and create music on the spot to keep people dancing and the vibes up. Leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, Dj Neil was very professional and attentive. 

Dj Neil lived up to his hype and some. We dance the entire time. Even a week after our wedding we still have people telling us how much fun they had and how good the Dj was.

This review is for Steve with Maryland’s DJ. Steve was our wedding DJ for an event at the Chesapeake Bay and has our highest recommendation due to his profound professionalism. Steve was extremely personable and communicative throughout the entire process and provided his skills to accommodate special requests for song edits and musical queues during ceremony events. He was exceedingly knowledgeable on all aspects of audio engineering, noise considerations and acoustics for outdoor events, and venue-specific accommodations as he had frequented our selected location. The music selection system was an easy to use, web based application that streamlined the song selection process and provided valuable insight into music considerations, meeting time constraints, and accounting for key wedding objectives. We highly recommend Maryland’s DJ for other wedding events to any interested parties.

I can't give a high enough recommendation for Maryland's DJ! From the moment we contacted them, we were celebrated, collaborated with, and listened to. When we said we wanted a wedding to remember, they matched us with DJ Ryan Walburn who BLEW AWAY our expectations! Not a soul left that dance floor for 3 STRAIGHT HOURS, and his music during dinner and emceeing went above and beyond. The portal is super simple to use, you get to personalize your day, and get frequent check-ins with your DJ, and their rates are affordable. Our guests haven't stopped raving and neither will we!

Our photographer referred us to Jordan and we couldn’t be happier that she did! He was extremely helpful and always there when we had any questions, especially with having to change our date due to COVID. The lighting was absolutely amazing and the photo booth was a complete hit. I don’t think there was a single moment the dance floor was empty once dinner was over, besides the cake cutting. Jordan covered a lot of genres of music so there was a little bit of everything for everyone in attendance. The night flowed seamlessly and we knew we were in good hands throughout!

This company was fantastic from day one, they set up a couple different virtual meetings with my wife and I and we just got a great feeling from them from the start. They are great people to work with. After hearing our music taste, they set us up with DJ Steve Hartka for our wedding and he was AMAZING. We got to make a list of "must play" songs, as well as "do NOT play" songs, and Steve took our music vibes and applied it to the rest of his playlist. We added the photo booth which was a huge hit with us and with the guests. These DJs know how to read the room and play the type of music that will get guests on the dance floor and stay on the dance floor. Thank you for a great event!

DJ Steve was the DJ for our wedding and boy oh boy, did he knock it out of the park!! Working with Steve was a breeze, he's super friendly, very knowledgable about a wide range of genres, and really listens to you to help craft the best experience tailored to your wedding. He made sure to mix in newer hits with some older hits and our guests absolutely loved it. We had everyone on the dance floor. His expertise really helped to make our wedding an incredible night to remember. We can't recommend Steve and the Maryland's DJ team enough! Jordan was a great communicator SUPER responsive. We hired him for our wedding last October but had to cancel due to the pandemic. Had an anniversary party this pas weekend and he played all our requested music and was great. We also had a phot booth and it was AMAZING...highly recommend it. The only suggestion I can give is that he could of interacted more with the crowd and look happier! Aside from that it was a great experience and we have great memories.

Steve H. & everyone at Maryland's DJ was an absolute pleasure and incredible to work with. Steve really took his time to understand the aesthetic and mood we wanted to capture for our wedding day. The photo booth they offered was completely worth it! These were the first photos we got back and we love looking at them! At the end of the night my wedding guests were chanting for an encore. Additional, one of my family members contacted MD DJ to secretly purchase dancing on a cloud for us. MD DJ really delivered to make our night magical!

Words cannot express what it was like to have Jordan as the DJ at our wedding. If it was not for Jordan the entire ceremony and reception would have fallen apart. This was an unexpected part of his job. My wedding coordinator lacked coordinating and he took over. The entire day/night was stress free and went perfectly. He hinted at when certain things should occur and prepared my husband and I at a meeting before the wedding. There is so much that goes into the music for the ceremony and reception and without Jordan we would have been lost.

I did not know Jordan before I booked him as our DJ, but he has become a friend. He was supportive, friendly, and made the environment uplifting. I have never seen so many people dance and celebrate like they did on the night of our wedding. Jordan was the absolute best vendor we had at our wedding.

He played every kind of music. He played relaxing soft rock/pop/country during the cocktail hour and dinner. THEN he played tons of dance music from stations like 104.3 and 106.5. The reception was high energy! It was an appropriate mix of music the entire night. The sound quality was great and he was not a corny DJ like they mention to beware of in bridal magazines. He didn't tell jokes or steal the attention. He was down to Earth and everyone loved him. All 150 people have complimented my husband and me. They say that they have never been to a more beautiful and fun filled wedding. We owe the success of the evening to Jordan! He added so much to our special day.

Our DJ (Thiery Banks) was outstanding. Every communication we had leading up to the wedding was professional but also personal. He was flexible about which portions of the wedding we defined completely and which portions he would run autonomously based on our tastes (collected through our phone conversations and the songs we submitted as must-play or by request). He kept people engaged and having fun all night! If you can book Thiery, absolutely do so!!

By contrast, our dealings with Jordan Solander (owner of Maryland’s DJ) were terrible. He did not show up for scheduled calls, forgot all about us, and was generally unpleasant to work with. But that’s nothing compared to the scammy way our contract was handled. In January, Jordan sent us a contract with a total cost of $3200. We signed the contract and were required to pay 50% upfront, so we immediately sent a check for $1600. The remainder was due 30 days before the wedding, so we again paid $1600 on that date. Several days later, Jordan emailed and said we hadn’t paid our full bill and that we owed $1200. We replied with our contract, showing an agreed price of $3200 and evidence of two payments totaling $3200. Jordan wrote back and claimed that he’d made a mistake in the contract and that it should have been $1200 higher in order to get the Photo Booth option we’d discussed and which was promised in our contract. We asked him to uphold his end of the signed contract, and he refused. In further discussions, he mentioned that he’d had this problem multiple times with other clients.

If he’d contacted us immediately in January and said, “This payment is not 50% of the total,” we would have had time to consider whether we would accept a contract at $4400. Because Jordan waited until just a few weeks before our wedding, we had no choice but to keep our contract for the DJ but get a photo booth from another vendor.

Since he admitted that he’s done this multiple times, Jordan is either negligent in addressing a known issue or scamming people for more money by springing additional charges on them when the wedding is imminent. The latter seems far more likely to me, given Jordan’s overall demeanor and lack of professionalism.

I would absolutely hire Thiery Banks again as a DJ, but only if I could book him directly or through another company. I would never do business again with Jordan Solander.

Marylands DJs was great to work with from start to finish. I really enjoyed my consult call with Taylor who matched us up with our DJ Steve. Steve made the entire process super easy, seamless, & not stressful! He was a perfect match for us. We loved how chill he was. His personality is great & he is extremely knowledgable when it comes to music. Our wedding was a hit, our dance floor was packed & he navigated the requests he knew we would not like perfectly. We can't thank Steve & Marylands DJs enough & would recommend them to all friends & family :)

From the interview and booking experience early on, to the online portal and various check in meetings, we were confident Maryland's DJ would do a great job. And on the day of the wedding, they nailed it. Steve H was amazing as an emcee and DJ; he kept things flowing smoothly throughout the night, and all of our guests kept telling us how great the music was. We scheduled our wedding date around Jordan's availability, because our wedding day wouldn't be the same without the #1 DJ. Jordan will not only play the tunes for your day, but he will become your friend, step in on day of duties, make sure everything runs smoothly and organized, sweep any wedding day stress away, keep your drinks full, and of course the dance floor packed. As our wedding night was coming to a close and the bus was ready to take the first trip back to the hotel, but our guests literally refused because the dance floor was too much fun!!! I wish I had counted the number of guests who came up to us stating it was the "best wedding they had ever attended". Investing in Maryland's DJ is investing in a relaxed, and fun filled wedding day that you (and all of your guests) will never want to end!

Everyone at MD's DJ was so great to work with! Taylor helped with scheduling and coordination, and she was so responsive, kind, and a joy to work with! DJ Steve was originally supposed to do our wedding and he produces music as well as DJing, so when I brought him a first dance song that I loved but felt too long, he helped me rework it keeping all of the sentimental parts while trimming it down to a reasonable time. He is so great! Something came up and he couldn't make it to our event, so DJ Scott stepped in and was so great! Every song he played was met with cheers and our guests RAVED about him. He kept the dance floor full all night and everyone had so much fun!! Highly recommend Marylands DJ!!!

Ryan Carr with Maryland's DJ was awesome, he was great to work with through the process of planning our wedding, explained everything thoroughly and was super helpful. He and his partner for our event set the mood for our whole day and we can't recommend them highly enough, everyone loved the energy and the music. Had an absolutely fantastic experience working with Brian and Maryland's DJ! They have several DJ's in their company which I appreciated, the first meeting was seeing what kind of music we wanted played and what the vibes of the day we were looking for. Working with Maryland's DJ was great! Steve was quick to respond when I initially reached out and DJ MikeQ was assigned to us for our wedding. We met virtually multiple times before the event to discuss our music style and preferences. They have a detailed online portal where we were able to add our song preferences for all of the classic wedding moments and then requests for must plays, do not plays, etc. During the event Mike was ON IT! He did great at the ceremony and cocktail hour and then nailed our bridal party intros (we had a different song for each pair). Also, he kept the dance floor going all night long and was great at mixing songs together! There were a few songs on our must-plays that we didn't hear which was a bit of a bummer, but overall it was wonderful working with Mike and I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ that wants to see the dance floor packed! Many people after the wedding talked about how great he was! Thanks, MikeQ for making our wedding dance floor the place to be!!

Steve was nothing short of amazing! He provided us with a fun, entertaining, and memorable wedding reception! Steve constantly had the dance floor completely full! We hired Maryland's DJ for our wedding reception (the official gathering after a 2020 courthouse ceremony) and I was blown away by how helpful they were throughout the entire process. I'm not really a music person and had no idea what songs to suggest but our guests (and embarrassingly myself) were singing and dancing all night. I was kind of sad going in to the re-do wedding reception as it didn't really feel like the real thing, and I was afraid that our friends and family would feel the same way too, but Maryland's DJ helped to give our reception the authentic first-time feeling and I am so happy with the way everything came together. 10/10!!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Steve from Maryland's DJ for our wedding. Steve was great to work with from the get-go: he was communicative, responsive, and super easy to get along with. Our music taste is very particular and Steve really "got" us. He even offered to spin vinyl at our party, which we were super excited about. On the day of the event, Steve was not only professional but also made our small (covid-sized) party a blast. I initially discovered Jordan performing at my friend's wedding and reached out for my own wedding a couple years later. Maryland's DJ is super flexible and fun to work with! I had my brothers band play a set for my wedding and Maryland's DJ was very flexible to adapting this in so that it was a seamless transition between band and dj. They really take the time to personalize the music to you while also creating a vibe that gets everyone young and older up on the dance floor. Everything was so natural and well organized between Maryland DJ for each aspect of my wedding. They truly don't miss a beat! 😉 I couldn't recommend them more and now as I work in the wedding industry I have had the opportunity to see them on another level. From both my personal and professional experience they are my go-to recommendation to couples who I work closely with.

to say the least, 4 days after my wedding I was still getting non stop texts about how amazing my DJ was. Mike Q was the dj for my wedding, originally I made a playlist for him to play, after having multiple zoom calls to ensure everything went great - I loved the vibe that mike had and told him to play whatever he wanted to play. Every single person was on the dance floor. Yes even the old people. He was SOOO good. He really made the fun part of the wedding more fun than anticipated. I will be going out just to hear mike dj at the clubs!!

For bride and grooms to be - do yourself a favor and look no further, seriously! Jordan was amazing during this entire planning process, he always replied in a timely manner and made every little request I had seem like no biggie and made it happen! Using the portal (which was extremely cool!!) gives you the opportunity to give him a general idea of the type of music you want and keeps things extremely organized...Now more importantly, he had the crowd on the dance floor the ENTIRE time. He is able to read the crowd and deliver. It’s only been two days since the wedding and I’ve gotten so many messages about the DJ and how incredible the music was and how awesome his lighting work was. If you want the best of the best, you’ve found it!

We can’t thank Ryan and the team at Mixing Maryland enough for their generous offer to donate their services for BARCS’ new gala event “Dog Wedding.” When we were connected with Mixing Maryland we thought “Oh, nice. Looks like they have a great reputation and will add class to our event,” but little did we know how much more than music this company would bring to our event. All night I continued to call Ryan our ‘Master of Ceremonies,’ as he kept the schedule on track, made announcements, dismissed tables for food and, on top of all that, picked the perfect playlist.

Since our event was a fundraiser gala, disguised as a marriage of two dogs, we weren’t really sure if our guests would flood to the dancefloor like you would at a wedding with all your friends and family. Well, Ryan and his team did a great job surveying the room and creating the perfect playlist, because then the first song came on, the floor was packed. And, they kept that floor packed for the rest of the night.

Our wedding day could not have come even close to what it was without Steve! Throughout the entire process he was incredibly responsive and accommodating especially when we had to postpone our original date! During our consultation he had our exact style of music to a T, and when it came to the day of he absolutely nailed it! Steve read the crowd from the very start and kept our guests on the dance floor all night, from the very first song to the very last! People of all ages who attended our wedding continue to rave about how much fun they had, and we honestly could not have done it without him! 10000% would recommend hiring him!

A good wedding DJ does more than play music. They help manage the flow of the day, they provide atmosphere and ambience, and most importantly, they run the fun on the dance floor. If you want a DJ service that matches your needs, that MCs as well as they DJ, and are a great time at your party, gathering, wedding, etc., you want Maryland’s DJ and you want DJ Steve. Steve isn’t the only DJ they have, but he ended up as DJ for our wedding after we met and consulted with Maryland’s DJ. They make a wonderful effort to match a couple with the styles of one of their excellent DJs. Their online portal provides lots of avenues to control the songs couples would like (or not!) at their wedding, and communication is always open. On the wedding day, DJ Steve was smooth as can be. He worked with us to facilitate a few last-minute lineup changes to the wedding party, to manage to the minute various announcements and scheduling of dances, was a wonderful and energetic MC — and when the dancefloor opened, he was an absolute joy to have at the DJ table. His mixes are on point and he works with you to make sure you’re getting the songs and sounds you and your guests want. You can’t go wrong with these folks.

Jordan and the Maryland's DJ team delivered the dance party of the century! Our friends are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding a few weeks ago! Not only did Jordan know exactly what we wanted, what to play and when, and how to mix songs, but he did the music for our entire event - from pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour, all the way through the reception dance floor that lasted over 3 hours! After a few hours of dancing I started getting nervous that people were going to get worn out, but Jordan knew exactly what to do - he threw on a slow jam, which got people up to dance with their date, and then they were refreshed and stayed on the dance floor for the rest of the night!

The entire experience with Jordan was amazing from start to finish. He asked a lot of questions, gave us a lot of information, and helped us curate an amazing party for our family and friends. Our only regret was that we can't do it every weekend - we even jokingly talked about annulling the marriage just so we would have to do it all over again. We decided that was too drastic, but we will definitely figure out an excuse to hire Jordan again... and you should too! You won't regret it :)

Jordan was such an amazing DJ for our wedding day! He made sure to meet with us at least once prior to the wedding, and gave us an in-person demonstration of his talent. He asked that both my husband and I tell him a few songs or genre of music that we liked, and then he was able to easily mix this music together into songs that flowed beautifully. DJ Brian was amazing. About a month before the third planned wedding was to take place, we found ourselves without music for the day. A friend of a friend has worked with Jordan, recommended him, and within 20 minutes, we had a scheduled phone call to work with our unique wedding day. Not only were Jordan and Brian professional and amiable, but they were incredibly flexible with the insanity (& forgetfulness!) of this exhausted bride. Finally, DJ Brian found an indescribable way to play a beautiful blend of Egyptian & country music... I never would have imagined that’s possible! DJ Brian & Jordan catapulted the best of memories & am grateful the unfortunate events of the pandemic let to something good like serendipitously finding Marylands DJs.

In our case, the team unfortunately had a late breaking emergency with our DJ a few weeks prior to the wedding; however, Maryland’s DJ was all over it. The team immediately informed us, laid out a gameplan, and linked us up with the phenomenal team of Laz and John. Any concerns over the late change immediately went away when we spoke with them. They are the utmost professional, experienced, and flat out friendliest individuals you could work with. We had a very distinct vision bordering on the darker/moody side vs a traditional wedding. Laz and John took the time to get to know us, listened to our vision, laid out what would work best, and it all showed on the wedding night. They hit the nail on the head, ensured we had the special moments we were hoping for, and had a blast with us during it all. Laz is engaging, a talented artist, and hip to hip with the other vendors to ensure a flawless night. DJ John is unbelievable on the tables, feels out the crowd, and hit the nail on the head throughout the wedding. Maryland’s DJ is the way to go for the soundtrack of your event.

We loved working with Maryland's DJ and DJ Theo! The team made everything easy - we had a walk through to talk about our goals for our reception and were matched with a DJ that they thought could make it happen. And DJ Theo certainly could - he was amazing! We also loved the planning tool they gave us to use for timeline creation, choosing songs, and more. The party was fantastic and we loved how smoothly everything went from micing up the ceremony to creating an awesome atmosphere for our guests during dinner, speeches and of course, the dancing! We chose Steve from MD DJ because we have attended two weddings previously that he had done and the dance floor stayed full the entire night. Our wedding was no different! Steve did an amazing job mixing it up to appeal to everyone in the crowd. The planning process was a breeze and all of the music was executed perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. Would highly recommend, as my experience with weddings has shown that the DJ will really make or break the party!

Marylands DJ, and DJ Brian brought the energy for our wedding we were so happy to have them and have plenty of great mixes with all of the music that we picked. From the beginning Marylands DJ were professional and extremely helpful in our process. We were shown a great and informative presentation about their offerings, and Jordan walked us through the entire contract from beginning to end to make sure we had no issues! They had plenty of follow up emails and even incorporated some Polish music, as my wife is Polish-American, and made sure the crowd was always partying! Unfortunately, he was about 40 minutes late to the venue and switched up the order of songs, dances, and toasts. Other than that, once the night got going, everything went smoothly and we were the only ones who noticed. These things happen though, and we still had an amazing time!

He did a great job of reading the crowd and selecting songs to keep our guests up and dancing. He was also checking in with us throughout the night to make sure we were having a good time, etc.

When we said we wanted a wedding to remember, they matched us with DJ Ryan Walburn who BLEW AWAY our expectations! Not a soul left that dance floor for 3 STRAIGHT HOURS, and his music during dinner and emceeing went above and beyond. The portal is super simple to use, you get to personalize your day, and get frequent check-ins with your DJ, and their rates are affordable. Our guests haven't stopped raving and neither will we!

After going to multiple weddings with boring, unorganized DJs who played awkward and cringeworthy music, my husband and I knew we wanted better for our wedding. That’s how we found Jordan at Maryland DJ. From our amazing initial meeting, where Jordan mixed our favorite songs into a mini-set list, I knew Jordan was the perfect choice for the fun, energetic wedding we wanted.

Our family and friends have not stopped praising Jordan and our wedding’s music: “that was the best wedding music I’ve ever heard” and “every song he played was perfect”. Jordan kept the dance floor packed all night, including my 3 year old cousin and my 70 year old great aunt. He played one amazing song after another, totally embracing our music tastes.

Jordan also makes the wedding process as smooth as possible. His portal helps plan your ceremony and reception while giving you plenty of suggestions for “must-play” songs, parent dances, first dance songs, etc… At the wedding, he makes sure the ceremony and reception run smoothly through his promptness, his announcements, and his guest interactions. He isn’t corny or cheesy, but he will make sure everyone gets up dancing!

We loved how thoughtful Jordan was through the entire event. He arrived early to the venue and even offered to help my dad and brother set up our chuppah. He checked in with us about 30 minutes before the end of the night to see if there were any last minute songs we still wanted to hear. And, when I put two musical songs on our cocktail hour/dinner playlist, he included some “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hanson” which made the night even more special and personalized.

We can never thank Jordan enough for helping make our wedding perfect. If you want the best music and dancing at your wedding, Jordan is the perfect DJ for your event.

We also had a Zoom meeting with Jordan and our DJ for the wedding - Steve, who also helped answer more questions. The portal they use is also convenient and helped us really think about all the details and music we wanted for our wedding, and it was relatively easy to use.

Steve also checked back with us a few weeks before the wedding and we ran through everything with him, helping us feel more comfortable. On the day of the wedding, Steve and his assistant ran the wedding and worked with my other vendors to keep the day moving and things on time. If you do not pick Maryland's DJ to host your wedding you are doing it completely wrong. We had Steve as our DJ and from start to finish he was very easy to work with and was very excited to help us plan all of our details. Steve was professional and had the dance floor ROCKING all night long. Steve played almost all of the songs we had requested and even added his own songs to match the crowds vibes. He is your man!!! We will always remember how exciting it was to see all of our family and friends out on the dance floor with us all night long.
